Matthew M. Wallace, CPA, JD is an estate planning and elder law attorney in practice since 1986. He is founder and president of the Wallace Law Firm, P.C. Prior to founding his own firm, Matt had a more general practice in which, in addition to estate planning and elder law, business planning and real estate, he also handled litigation matters and practiced municipal and immigration law, among other matters. Matt realized that he didn’t like the fighting that other attorneys did, and so in 1999 he decided to focus exclusively on estate planning and elder law, business planning and real estate. In 1999, we started practicing Happy Law® exclusively.
Matt has published more than 350 articles on estate planning, elder law, business planning and real estate matters in a number of publications, including a weekly column, Planning Matters, published on Sundays in the Port Huron Times Herald newspaper. Matt is also a frequent speaker on estate planning, elder law, business planning and real estate matters with local, regional and national community, professional and business organizations, including area employers and the Michigan Institute for Continuing Legal Education.
Matt has earned his Certificate of Completion from the Probate and Estate Planning Certificate Program of the State Bar of Michigan and Institute of Continuing Legal Education in 2005. He has earned the designation of Advanced Wealth-Strategist Planner from the Esperti Peterson Institute in 2002. He received his Juris Doctor degree from Wayne State University Law School in Detroit, Michigan in 1986. In addition to being an attorney, Matt is also a Certified Public Accountant, a designation he earned in 1982. Matt received his Bachelor of Business Administration degree with distinction from the University of Michigan School of Business in Ann Arbor, Michigan in 1980.
